IGA

The inaugural Patient Support Group Meeting took place at the Royal Surrey County Hospital today (9th October 2015). It was a fun afternoon and feedback was very positive.

I’ve set these up previously at King’s College, London and they always seem to start with a small group of super-keen attendees but with word of mouth grow to large events. (Kings had 4 patients for the first event and is now over 60 per meeting).

This meeting covered the basics of glaucoma and eye drop therapy. Future events will focus on topics requested by the group including laser, stents etc. The glaucoma world is our oyster!

Special thanks to the IGA (International Glaucoma Association), our eye clinic Sisters Betsy & Anne and most importantly Ken Hollis. Ken was instrumental in getting this programme started and gave a superb talk. Many thanks, Ken
